Lil Wayne's highly anticipated album "The Carter III" has been pushed back almost a half dozen times in the last six months. The buzz amongst the fans is there, the material is there, and the record label is dying to release an album, so what exactly is the hold up?
Wayne refuses to stop recording music for the album.
"I make it worse for Universal [Records]," Wayne said Tuesday, sitting on his tour bus. "I keep doing new songs every other day. I don't stop working, so I don't know when they gonna get that. Everything I do be better than the last, like, 'Oh, this gotta make the album!'"
According to Lil Wayne, he's recorded enough songs for "The Carter III" to make eight extra albums. The ever changing list of guest appearances for the album include Hurricane Chris, Jay-Z, Corey Gunz, his artist Tiger (younger cousin of Gym Class Heroes' Travis McCoy), Lil Mama, Busta Rhymes, Juelz Santana, Fabolous, Baby, Brisco, Dre from Cool & Dre, and Ludacris on a duet called "Eat You Alive."
At this point, there are two singles picked out for The Carter III, and he's already shot a video for one of them (Lollipop). But some fans may remember that Wayne had singles picked out in November also (Gossip), and those led nowhere. It's anybody's guess when this album drops.
