Timbaland has inked a deal with Verizon Wireless to create an album exclusively for their V-Cast network. Timbo will make one song per month with different artists, all while touring the country on the Verizon Mobile Recording Studio Bus. The recording process of each song will be captured and available for V-Cast subscribers to watch.
This deal was made possible because Timbaland's label deal with Interscope Records is over. Although he doesn't plan to leave Interscope, he has freedom to do side projects with other companies at the moment, and is taking full advantage.
Fans can expect the kind of unpredictability that his latest album "Shock Value" offered. The V-Cast album could possibly have everything from hardcore hip hop to piano duets. The first song from the mobile album featuring Keri Hilson will debut today at a pre-Grammy party. Timbo says the song is "very funky" and has an 80s feel.
