During yet another pre trail hearing, Judge Vincent Gaughan denied testimony from Dr. Sharon Cooper, a pediatrician who the prosecution wanted on the stand. The girl (who is now an adult since the crime took place so long ago) denies that she is the person in the sex tape with R. Kelly. Dr. Cooper would have taken the stand to highlight how victims of child abuse commonly deny what took place.
This is the second time the prosecution has attempted to get Dr. Cooper on the stand, but Judge Gaughan doesn't seem to want any parts of her. "This doctor coming on would really be coming on to discuss credibility, and that's not beyond the ken of the jury," Gaughan said. Kelly's trial is set to start May 9th, but we can expect more hearings between now and then.
