Although the nominees for the American Music Awards are still decided by sales and retail date, for the first time in hisotry, the winners will be picked by the fans. Fans can vote by visiting ama.abc.com from now until November 1st to determine who takes home the trophies. Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Linkin Park, and Daughtry lead nominations with three a piece.

Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, T.I. and Young Jeezy were close behind with two nods each. The event will be broadcast on November 18th from Los Angeles, with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel hosting the ceremony for the fourth time.
The initial lineup of performers includes Daughtry, Fergie and Rihanna.
