It seems Prince started a trend. No, "not wearing pants with the ass cut out":http://mog.com/images/users/0000/0004/6028/images/1181326502.jpeg . I mean including a copy of your album with concert tickets.
Fans who purchase presale tickets for Bon Jovi's upcoming tour will receive a digital iTunes copy of the bands new album Lost Highway. The tour kicks off Oct. 25th, in Newark, N.J at the Prudential Center.
American Express cardholders will get first crack at online presale tickets June 12-14, and the general public from June 15 through June 22. After the two weeks of presale are over, fans will be able to purchase tickets without the digital album starting on June 23th. The program works by customers receiving a code from Ticketmaster after purchasing tickets. The code can then be used on iTunes to download Lost Highway beginning June 19th.
If you think purchasing presale tickets gets you the album free of charge, think again. Presale tickets will be marked $9.99 higher than regular ticket prices. Which means you aren't receiving a discount at all. This is still worth it if you actually get to receive the album earlier than it's released to the general public right??? But you don't, you can't use your special code to purchase from iTunes until the album is officially released.
So in closing. There's absolutely no difference between purchasing a presale tiket and receiving an iTunes album code, and waiting to buy tickets with the general public, and then purchasing a copy of Lost Highway when it's officially released.
Talk about worthless.
