Kanye West To Bring "Hip Hop Muppet" Show To Comedy Central

Posted over 3 years ago

You know that instant feeling of skepticism you experienced after reading the title of this post? .... Yeah I have that too!

It seems as if Kanye West's muppet themed video for "Champion" inspired him enough to pursue the puppet genre on cable television. If you combine this news with the negotiations Mr. West has with HBO concerning a new reality show, 2009 could be the year that Kanye invades TV on all fronts.

"Comedy Central has teamed with Kanye West for a project described as hip-hop meets the Muppets. A half-hour pilot has been shot for the project, tentatively titled "Alligator Boots."

It's from Jackhole Prods., the production company founded by Jimmy Kimmel, Daniel Kellison and Adam Carolla that also was behind Comedy Central's puppet-centric "Crank Yankers."

West also hosts the pilot; the idea is to have a different celebrity guest host for every episode, similar to the setup on the original "Muppet Show."

Here's the video for Champion to refresh your memory!

Frankly, I think it would be a better show if it was just Crank Yankers with Kanye reciting some of his angry blog posts.
