Isaac Hayes & His Huge Impact On Hip Hop Music
-
Artist:

Isaac Hayes is a part of an elite group of musicians along with James Brown, George Clinton, Marvin Gaye and a few others who have had a lasting effect on rap music. Hip Hop Is Read put together an awesome collection of hip hop tracks inspired by Mr. Hayes. I could attempt to describe what the mixtape entails, but nobody can express the meaning better than the person who created it.
"To call this collection of tracks "a bunch of songs which sampled Isaac Hayes" would be an absolute understatement. Isaac Hayes' music wasn't simply the source for sampling; his music was a source for inspiration. Much like sample greats Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, James Brown and others, Isaac Hayes' music offered more than a sample, loop and/or break; his music supplied and injected soul into any project or song connected to it. Each of these tracks bears a strong connection to the original Hayes' compositions -- each a classic in their own right."

Issac hayes changed my life. I owe my some of my inspiration for diggin to that man.
Damn, Issac, Barry, James Brown.... Maybe the world is coming to an end?! Are there ANY great composers or musicians of funk and soul left? What happened to the 'good' shit?
Luckily, he raised the bar before he split.
this is great, thanks for the link
Ditto what Kevin said. I can still remember the first time I heard 'Shaft' on the car radio. It was many years later that I learned he'd written and played on all the Sam and Dave hits, also memorable for hearing them first on a car radio. The man was a quiet giant.
