The New Pornographers Cancel European Dates

The New Pornographers became the second entity to break the collective hearts of Europe this week. Following in the footsteps of M.I.A., the band has cancelled their dates overseas (and one show in Canada), citing personal reasons.

The following message was left on their "Myspace page...":http://www.myspace.com/thenewpornographers

"We regretfully must inform you that we have had to cancel our trip to Europe this coming July due to personal reasons. Sorry that sounds generic, but it's sincere. We do not like having to cancel shows and were very excited about returning to Europe, but the unforeseen circumstances that have arisen just have made it impossible to do so in July.

"Please rest assured, though, that everyone in the band is safe, healthy (physically and most of the time mentally), and chemically independent, and we hope that you are as well."
