Snoop Dogg's Country Music Video For "My Medicine"

Posted over 3 years ago

Snoop pushed his personal boundaries a little by singing on 'Sensual Seduction" late last year, now he's doing a country video with Willie Nelson.

Snoop and Willie shot this video over in Amsterdam (hmmm I wonder why). I bet the puffs of smoke billowing out of their tour bus was amazing.

This song was written by Whitey Ford, aka the guy from House Of Pain... good times.

Wow, this is definitely a new direction for Snoop. It's not a bad song actually. I was expecting to hear far more of Willie in it. If I didn't see the vid I wouldn't have even been able to detect Willie singing in the song. I guess he's just there to lend some cred, hehe.

I didn't think Sensual Seduction was stepping too far out for Snoop.  He's got pimps blood running through them veins and I am sure growing up he was bumping Roger Troutman plenty so it goes with the territory.  And of course since T-Pain, Snoop and Weezy AND Kanye have all been using the vocoder and voicebox.

As for the country video, hey, Jay-Z has ALL of middle America singing "Show Me What You Got" since his little NASCAR stint with Dale Earnhardt Jr., so it was a smart business move on Snoops behalf.  I am sure his marketing strategy is always trying to figure out how to garner more listeners.

So who is ready to sing all of "Doggy Style" with a country accent?

I agree Hyman. Remember when people used to ask what kind of music you listen to?  I have always replied "Good music".  Now, with all of the cross over, no one can deny me that statement.  Willie and Snoop may very well be on two different musical spectrums so to see them come together is revolutionary.

snoop really looks like he's loving every moment of this, so i'll say it's pretty good. i hope they don't make a promo disc to sell at walmart.

did he get 'Sir Smoke Alot' to direct this video?  it's sad to see such a great rapper do something this terrible.
