Missy Elliot Set To Release First Album In Three Years

Posted about 1 year ago
While Missy's partner in crime (Timbaland) has been tearing up the charts with hit songs, Ms. Elliot has been relatively quiet since her last album "The Cookbook". A new album tentatively titled "Block Party" is due in August. Tracks on the new album, Elliott's seventh, include the drum-heavy "Hip-Hop Don't Die"; the sensual "Milk & Cookies," on which Elliot lightheartedly harmonizes about her capabilities in the bedroom; and first single "Best Best."I'd be genuinely surprised if Elliot's album were actually released in August. When an artist has been out of the spotlight for so long, theres usually a reintroduction period where new music is released in the months leading up to the album. So far, Missy hasn't put out anything new aside from the "Ching-A-Ling" track for the Step Up 2 soundtrack in March. *"Yahoo News":http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080608/music_nm/missy_dc*

  1. Bartleby says Now, that's an album I'd like to preview. "The Cookbook" was a bit disappointing but I'm sure still has plenty of milkshake ;)

  2. Snorri7 says I have to agree that the Cookbook was a let down...but Lose Control was awesome and I really loved Teary Eyed. I always said Missy should do a vocal album. I would be so down. I am stoked for the new album but Ching a Ling is a bit meh.
