Remy Sentenced To 8 Years In Jail; Inmates Wedding Scrapped

Remy Ma was sentenced to 8 years behind bars for weapons and coercion charges today in Manhattan Criminal Court. She wept and pleaded for a light sentence before it was read, saying:

"I stand here today as Remy Mackie," she said with tears in her eyes, referring to Papoose' last name. "I'm a loving wife, mother and loving daughter and loving sister to my brothers and sisters."

Remy also addressed the wo man she shot in the stomach, Makeda Barnes-Joseph. "I apologize for not saving you from your physical and mental scars."

However, the judge delivered a statement of her own, shortly after reading the sentence.

"This is somewhat of a pattern. This is not the first time she has been engaged in a violent act. She never took responsibility for her actions. This has nothing to do with rap it's about the actions of one person. Remy is an extremely angry young woman who feels the rules do not apply to her."

Remy's husband, NY rapper Papoose, got into a shoving match with court officers after he sentence. "All y'all want is fucking money," he yelled. "This is bullshit. Remy is innocent."Remy was supposed to marry Papoose yesterday behind bars, but the event was called off due to Pap attempting to smuggle a key inside the jail. "A wedding was scheduled today and a visitor to that wedding service was found to be in possession of jail contraband so the wedding was canceled," a corrections official told the Daily News."The key that was found today easily opened handcuffs that we and other law enforcement officials use," the official said."SOHH.com":http://www.sohh.com/articles/article.php/15082

Anonymous says Actually, they did! It was in one of the final episodes of season four. The episode was the second of a four episode arc. It's got two titles: "The Snitch", or, as the dvd sets have it, "Targets Without a Badge, part two." The engine is stolen out of Starsky's car and they have to catch a bus. :)

Anonymous says what a joke. she sure wasn't sorry when she shot the woman. she acted so horribly when this all went down. i bet she's sorry that she has to do time, but too bad. this is the only time i've felt that justice was served when it comes to rappers and violence. lil kim did her time and so did foxy. remy will survive.
