It's been six years since he was initially arrested on child pornography charges, but R. Kelly's trial is finally underway. Kelly's legal team filed for a delay after a shocking news leak last weekend, but Judge Vincent Gaughan struck it down. An unknown Atlanta woman claims she had a threesome with R. Kelly and the under aged girl in question, according to the Chicago Sun Times. When that info leaked out, Kelly's lawyers had to scramble a little for damage control.
The unnamed Atlanta woman also claims an aide of R. Kelly paid her not to release a separate sex tape of Kelly. The woman is receiving immunity for her testimony.
"The testimony from the Atlanta woman could be crucial to the prosecution's case because the alleged victim at the center of the trial, who is now in her 20s, denied before a grand jury that she appears in the tape and might testify as a defense witness in the trial. Prosecutors became aware of the Atlanta woman's dealings with the Kelly aide after the deal was struck, according to the Sun-Times."
