Bill Cosby Releasing Rap Album This Month

Posted about 1 year ago
Hey kiddies, you better start saving your pennies! Mr. Huxtable is dropping the most anticipated album of the year this month. Frustrated with the hip hop that's being released these days, Bill Cosby says the album is an "unflinching look at life in the 21st century, but without the profanity, misogyny, violence and braggadocio"Wait a minute... does that mean there will be no diss tracks toward his foes? What about the requisite booty song? None of that either? I'm beginning to feel cheated already. Cosby Narratives Vol. 1: State of Emergency actually won't contain any vocals from Cosby himself whatsoever. He is on board as executive producer and co-writer. His collaborators include longtime musical colleague Bill "Spaceman" Patterson and Patterson's partner, Ced-Gee, co-founder of the hip-hop group Ultramagnetic MCs.Guests include such newcomer MCs as SupaNova Slom, Jace the Great and Brother Hahz. Selections include the New Orleans-jazzed "Where's the Parade" (a celebration of womanhood), the funky-soul "Dads Behind the Glass" and R&B-vibed "Get on Your Job.""Reuters":http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080415/music_nm/cosby_dc

  4. mollifire says this should be great fodder for future samples! loads of peeps have gotten a LOT of mileage from his anti-drug recordings. i've heard some psychedelic shizzle with cosby and kids all stretched out, chopped and screwed. i can only imagine what great stuff will come when peeps remix this hip hop album...

  5. Sturgell says Thought it was weird for a sec that they put his name all over the album like it's him rapping or something but then I realized something ??No matter what your doing; rapping, comedy, politics, basket weaving -whatever- if you got the Cos' on board then you put his name on your shit.??

  7. AA Coppertop says Rap "without the profanity, misogyny, violence and braggadocio" ? Big deal. John Cage did a piece consisting entirely of silence *decades* ago.
