WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Joell Ortiz Released From Aftermath Records...By Request

Posted about 1 year ago
While being signed to Aftermath Records has great perks such as working with Dr. Dre, Eminem, and 50 Cent, being on the label also means you'll most likely wait years before your album sees the light of day. Or in the cases of Rakim, Eve, and Raekwon... your album won't come out at all.
An up and coming artist like Joell Ortiz just couldn't wait, and requested a release in order to pursue other opportunities. “I can’t afford to wait. I got a million people waiting on me to come out,” Ortiz says in regards to the release request. “I would have been cheating myself if I would have to sit there and wait (on Aftermath). I have momentum now and I need to take advantage of it now. I need to be coming out with a new record ASAP.”
Joell says he's still on very good terms with Dr. Dre and expects the producer to contribute to his new album, check out the interview below.
