Tony Yayo has been going through legal motions for over 8 months facing the allegations that he slapped a 14 year old boy. Today during a hearing in Manhattan Criminal Court, the New York District Attorney revealed that Yayo's co-defendant revealed he was the one who assaulted the victim.
Lewell Fletcher was interviewed both the night of the arrest, and August 8th, where he informed detectives that he struck the child and Yayo was the one who pulled him off of the victim. Fletcher was also identified in a police lineup by the kid, which seems to confirm his story is true.
"I am very troubled by The People's disclosure today that they would violate a defendant's (Fletcher) Constitutional rights to council and then bury the information when it helps somebody else," Yayo's lawyer, Scott Leemon, told SOHH. "I'm glad after a year of trying to get information like this that it was finally disclosed in court today. As I said from the beginning Yayo denied ever doing this. This is another witness that said he did not slap this boy."
