Gnarls Barkley Frontman Guest Stars In Controversial Boondocks Episode

Posted about 1 year ago
Cee-Lo Green of Gnarls Barkley lent his voice to The Boondocks for an episode harshly critical of BET. In this edition, the lead character Huey goes on a hunger strike against the network due to lackluster programming and inept executives. Hopefully this helps combat the notion that the hip hop community is not self aware or critical of themselves and what goes on.
From the YouTube page: This episode was scheduled to air on Jan 7th, but did not for unknown reasons. There is speculation that the episode may have been banned.

  1. Sterfish says Wow, that looks like it's going to be hilarious when/if it eventually airs. On a side note, there must be no love lost between Reginald Hudlin and McGruder. The Harvard-educated character was obviously meant to be Hudlin, who is now president of entertainment at BET.

  2. Scribes4life says Damn, I hope that episode airs. I haven't been able to watch BET in a loooong time. It's sick. Somebody needs to keep the dialogue going. Thanks
