Ice Cube's 9th solo album Raw Footage is currently under construction and due for a release this summer. This will be Cube's second independent album, the first came in 2006 with Laugh Now, Cry Later. His mega success in Hollywood has afforded Cube the luxury of putting out albums on his own time, done his way, without pressures to create radio friendly music.
....I could have more fun with it, and do what I feel and not do it for other reasons. When you're on the record label, they are worried about that kind of stuff. You know, like where's the single? Where's the single? You just want to give them a single kick in the ass, and tell them to get the fuck out of the studio [laughs]. I'm just going back to the essence, doing it from the heart, doing it from the gut, and being happy with the results." He tells Complex Mag.
Cube is also launching an online real time streaming television network called UVNTV (U View Network Television). The network will employ Microsoft's Silverlight 1.0 platform, which enables users to view high quality video. *UVNTV claims they will be capable of streaming full screen DVD quality resoluton.*
