Wyclef To Appear on Vh1's SoulStage, Speaks Out For Haiti
-
Artist:
Wyclef Jean of the Fugees will appear on the December 4th edition of SoulStage. SoulStage's description reads exactly like VH1's Storytellers, which makes you ask exactly why they have two separate names. The 30 minute special will feature Wyclef performing songs from his upcoming album in an intimate setting, as well as sharing inspirations behind the music. The Carnival Volume II (Memoirs of an Immigrant) will be released tomorrow and features collabs from Akon, Lil' Wayne, T.I., Mary J. Blige, Shakira, Norah Jones and Paul Simon.

"What made me do Carnival II, was after going to Haiti [and] doing a lot of charity work, cutting my hair off, you know being in Hills and then I just got inspired," Wyclef said.
Speaking of Haiti, Clef recently spoke in defense of his homeland, when a report surfaced suggesting the AIDS virus found it's way to America through Haiti.
“World AIDS Day (December 1) is an opportunity to evoke the progress and challenges that Haiti must confront in order to fight this epidemic, but also the recent news that unjustly targeted our country and showed serious prejudice, AIDS is a worldwide illness that does not discriminate. Making Haiti the scapegoat only gets in the way of world progress in AIDS research,” Clef reasoned.
