Lil' Kim & 50 Cent Sued Over 'Magic Stick'

Lil Kim and 50 Cent have been sued for two million dollars by Carlos "Phantom of the Beats" Evans, who claims he produced the record and was never paid royalties. Evans filed the suit yesterday in Manhattan State Supreme Court, claiming he signed an agreement to produce the song which appeared on Lil Kims 2003 album La Bella Mafia. Even though Magic Stick eventually reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, Evans received only 7,500 for his production work.
"It was one of the hottest tracks on that album, and I didn't collect my royalties," Evans told the Associated Press. According to 50's lawyer, an accounting issue is the culprit for holding up the money. "Atlantic is trying to get it straightened out," Sedlmayr said. "If after the accounting Mr. Evans is entitled to anything, he'll get it then."
