Remy Ma Trial Delayed, Lack Of Progress In Investigation

Posted over 2 years ago
Remy Ma has yet to be indicted after the July 14th shooting of her best friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph due to slow progress in the investigation. Barnes-Joseph told authorities that after Remy shot her in the stomach twice, she dumped her purse on the ground to look for money instead of calling the ambulance.

Remy Smith plead not guilty to attempted murder, first-degree assault and weapons charges yesterday and is now free on bail. Her lawyer Ivan Fisher says that version of events is false, and is the reason why witnesses are giving conflicting reports of what happened. Those conflicting statements are the reason the investigation is moving at a snails pace.
"I suspect that the district attorney's getting conflicting views of the events from various witnesses and doesn't want to go before a grand jury until he's sure of what happened," Fisher said.
Assistant Manhattan District Attorney Michael McIntosh wouldn't give a statement as to what's taking so long. Lauren Raysor, Barnes-Joseph's lawyer, says her client is very disappointed with the sluggish progress. Remy's is due in court again in November 29th.
