Back from Japan...
...and everything rocks. Check that, everything rocks...except the music! I can listen to some pop music, but this J*Pop stuff is the pits! Sure I can't understand a word, but it sure seems to me like every song is the same thing. Some kind of love story, with the meeting, break up and re-connect (my wife give me the short synopsis). How can such a beautiful culture produce such horse shit?

Easy. It's for kids, not adults. Specifically, for teen girls whose life experiences parallel any number of JPop songs. If you want substance, there's always Kyoto or places very far from the big cities. (Gee, that also sounds like the U.S. pop scene!)
