Imagine Ryan Adams on stage. And he starts playing. And it's this great southern rock but soulful great music. Only he's not an self promoting pompous ass (Ryan, wherever you are, I love you, and I couldn't live without your music, but let's face it, you're not a nice person, you and Ben Folds should have a party).Dustin Kensrue, the lead singer of Thrice, has dabbled in some off-of-his-genre recordings but this is the first one that's really struck my heart. What it says to me? He's got songwriting skills. He's got lyrical skills. He's got heart. And the whole upbeat, downbeat, offbeat feel of this album just makes me incredibly happy.Currently the only retailer carrying it (that I could find) is Target but its gotten so much resounding praise that I can't see this being his last album like this. It's 29 minutes long and amazing. You'll hear it on the radio soon, I promise.
