The 80's music scene...I was into it, man. As long as it was crunchy, loud and heavy. It was 1983. After Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast record, I was hooked. My friends slowly dialed me in to the best of the best in the rocking metal world of music that slayed. You could find me at the Cow Palace watching Dio, Judas Priest, Maiden, even Metallica's And Justice For All tour. Or at the many venues around the bay area:The Omni, The Berkeley Keystone, The Stone in sf, The Mabuhay Gardens, The Rock on Broadway...but to this day, I have never seen Black Sabbath. I listened to my friends Black Sabbath albums all the time, but only owned one my entire life. It was Technical Ecstasy. And my favorite track was All Moving Parts(Stand Still). It must have been the way that Geezer hung those funky, warbled bass lines over Iomi's power chord riffs. The way that Ward just played straight as an arrow through them both. And Ozzy...he sang the damn song. Like a rock and roller would attack a sly and the family stone melody. Anyway, I was browsing through Mog, here and on Mogger HushHush's page I saw Black Sabbath.
So I just had to say something...Black Sabbath is the foundation of most things which are heavy and metal...most things...not all things.
