i had to put my cat, ariel, to sleep today. she would have been 19 in april. she just got too weak. she couldn't stand anymore. i've had her all my life. i'm gonna miss her. we buried her in the backyard next to lucky.

Its tough to lose a beloved pet. I'm a dog guy myself...when Shera (The WonderDog) died it tore a painful little hole in our lives. We've since filled that hole with treasured memories & stories that are gaining "legendary" status among the grandchildren & great-nieces & nephews.
There are some who have no place in their hearts for the unequivical love of an intelligent beast...Its their great loss. Animals are great judges of character...both in how people react to them & in how the animal responds to them.
Get through your grief in your time n way....fill that hole with memories & golden feelings.
:( I'm so sorry ... I have always had at least one dog and one cat in my life at all times. Each loss is hard, but some truly hit harder than others.
Are cats like dogs ... age x7? If so, Ariel had an incredibly long life :)
That's what I kept telling myself when my dog, Muttley died at the ripe old age of 119!! (he was 17).
