Howdy folks. Let us dig right in and discuss some thing that affects us all. That would be time.
What is the official time of MOG?
My guess is that it is GMT or Greenwich Meridian Time. You can check it out HERE. This is a good place to go and figure out where you stand with time. This brings me to my next point.
Get the most out of your post by posting early in the day GMT. By posting earlier in the day your post stays up on the Read section longer. MOG definitely has a 24 hour posting cycle. If your post is up early in the day GMT you can take advantage this 24 hour cycle, meaning more page views and potentially more comments. For example:
I am at +5 GMT, if I post at 8:30 pm I can take advantage of the 24 hour cycle minus half an hour. Conversely, if I post at say 7:30pm I would have about half an hour for my post to be read than it is off the read section for the day.
What day is it?
You will notice the Mogging community has unofficial official theme days. Here they are more or less (Thanks Kev):
Sunday = Covers Monday = Acoustic Tuesday = Punk Wednesday = no theme, but people have been posting mash ups Thursdays = Hip Hop Friday = Funk Saturday = nothing
Now that’s not to say you have to follow the theme on any given day. If you feel like posting a Hard Rock tune on Friday, Go Ahead. No one will think any less of you. Theme days are like an experiment on "One upmanship". I myself post Funk on Fridays and Punk any time I damn well please. When Friday comes I will crawl through MOG to find tasty Funk bits others have uploaded.

"Who put this piece of crap page up?", "What the hell is this?" and "Why would anyone want to do something like this?" These are great questions and here are the short answers.
1. My name is Chris Heilman (a.k.a. I am) you can find my page HERE 2. This is Mogtopia. The name sounds corny now, truth is I may change it later and who knows there may even be a contest involved. 3. I am creating this page in the hopes, that we as a community can answer questions (such as questions about style, etiquette, some tech questions and procedural) that everyone thinks about and also to take questions our new users may have, that rarely get answered in our forums.
I am not claiming that I am the "All Knowing Mogger" in fact quite the opposite. I have screwed up royally here on MOG from time to time and I just don’t want others to do the same dumbass things I did. I have an overwhelming desire to help out where I can and to help shape the future of this great online community I believe have.
As I said above, I have screwed up royally so I will be using myself as an example of "What not to do!" from time to time. Conversely, I have seen some outstanding posts and great questions presented here, so I will be using the Mog-O-Sphere as examples of "What to do!".
Some early ground rules I have set up for myself and this page are:
1. Every thing written here is subject to editing at any time. Should information change, something been found to be false or no good, a comment that is out of place or unwelcome, you name it and I will change it. Your First Amendment Rights are welcome here, just don’t over do it damnit. 2. You trust me and I will trust you back. It is good to build a cadre of friends. 3. I will not be posting music on this site but rather samples of movies, pop culture, or whatever. I have 2 other pages to fill with music. I can’t be involved with a third. 4. I am not the MOG Expert!!! I can’t stress this enough. I am not affiliated with MOG professionally. I do exchange correspondence with Mog Brain once in a while, but I certainly do not work for them. 5. I am open to suggestions. This is another one I can’t stress enough. This page goes nowhere without the input from Moggers. If you have a question or suggestion you can Mogmail me any time. 6. I will observe strict confidentiality. I think this is one of the most important rules. I want folks to be able to come to me and ask questions without the feeling they are being judged or looked down upon. I really want Mogtopia to be a completely unpretentious place.
There it is folks. I am setting up an empty vessel and I need you to fill it up. I have a few ideas for posts (should last me a month or 2), lets see what happens.
