"Maybe I'm just being old fashioned, but this iTunes, God bless 'em, it's going to kill music if they're not careful," lead singer Brian Johnson told Reuters. "It's a monster, this thing. It just worries me. And I'm sure they're just doing it all in the interest of making as much cash as possible. Let's put it this way, it's certainly not for the love, let's get that out of the way, right away."
OK, just asking here, but does anyone take musical advice from their granpa?!?

I must be dumb. He's saying that a music shop - a place where people buy music - is going to kill music. What part of this am I not understanding?? Or is this an entry for the Homer Simpson Genius Award?
He doesn't like iTunes... but I don't get the Walmart angle... so yeah, Homer Simpson Genius Award.
It is a little late in the game..maybe 6 or 8 years, but he has a point..
Yes, itunes is a way to sell music, but it makes it a computer thing all the same...and I hate that for a number of reasons.
As for the Wal Mart thing..that isn't for "love" either. He makes a decent point and then by going with Wal Mart he shoots himself in the foot, because he's hurting real music stores.
Another thing, most musicians should not handle their business affairs, or at least get some advice from somebody before speaking. Most (not all, 'cause some are excellent business folk) tend to be schizo about business..look at Prince. Love the music, but I often question the business acumen.
Amen brother!
I think he may be talking from an anti-trust angle, too much control in one place.
