WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Adele plays Joe's Pub...

Posted about 1 year ago
I wound up scoring a ticket from craigslist(THANKS) so I got to see her play 'acoustic' or stripped down as she called it with just a guitarist and keyboard player. She said she had a cold and was probably going to be a little wobbly, I thought she sounded great. I preferred the simple arrangements to some of the produced numbers on the album. Its a very pure sound that you can forgive some of the vocal gymnastics and her patter and anecdotes were funny and charming. She was geniunely moved that people on this side of the ocean was digging her music. A great night except for one thing, may I make a suggestion that one may want to avoid wearing high heels when attending a general admission show(as I predicted the tables were littered with execs from VH1 and MTV so even with a dinner reservation, I was relagated to stand at the bar)- my feet are killing me.

  3. Misstee says absolutely...it was my fault should have worn fancy sneakers instead but I had a few meetings out of the office so I was in my 'no really I'm a professional' mode and forgot.

  5. Misstee says She mentioned she just signed her US record deal and was interested in moving to NYC so I'm sure she'll be doing a larger swing around the states fairly soon....

  6. Mike the Knife says I liked the recordings I've heard. Now that she truly has the Misstee Seal of Approval, I'm primed. Let's get her to San Fran as fast as the inescapable hype will carry her. (And Duffy, too, please.)

  7. Misstee says Duffy was also in NYC this week, I'm assuming they were stopping here on their way back home from SXSW.
