MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:

Yes, I'm visiting my parents in the small town of Fagersta... also the home of The Hives... those boys, once so small, they were just other friends minor brothers... running around our legs when we went on all of those punkconcerts once upon a time... many. many years ago...

I moved from Fagersta in 1987... but I'm still visiting my family and my brother still lives in my old house outside the city... he bought it when my parents moved up north...

So here I am... slept in my old girlroom... but no posters of Japan or David Sylvian anymore... no Siouxsie & The Banshees... no Cure... no XTC... no Magazine... no Clash...no teenage girl longing for the world out there... London... Berlin... Paris...

No, this is just a beatiful and piecefull place to rest nowadays... and the hometown of the small, small boys of The Hives!

I can't say I've ever been impressed by the Hives, but all the names of posters you mentioned above are true aural excitements to these ears.

Say hello to Fagersta for me. (It looks pretty nice from Google Earth)

Ha! That's awesome. Do you have any stories of what the fellas were like back in the punk days?

I know Fagersta well Miss Breadcrumb, and have visited on a couple of ocassions. You're right, it's a lovely sleepy little Town. A complete change from Stockholm for sure. Why Fagersta you may ask ? Well I'm an engineer, and Fagersta has a major worldwide engineering company that I have dealings with.

Bartleby: Fagersta said "hello" back to you... belive it or not!

Sturgell: No, I have nothing on them boys... they were so small at the time. But Pelles' big brother Peter wrote a lot of fanzines in the late 70's and early 80's... he also fixed a place to have a lot of concerts... later he started the Bergslagsrock-festival in Fagersta where I saw bands like L7 and Green Day in the first years of the 1990's before the got big and famous... later on he started a recordlabel - Burning Heart - later bought by Epitaph... that's the gossip I can give you...

Ben Heller: Almost anyone I speak to have some sort of connection with this littel town Fagersta... strange and bizarre... it's only like 12.000 inhabitants big!
