Yeah well I tried to put this in a comment box after hearing that the Waterboys had been rained off due this continuous wet weather we are having. its a struggle trying to stay upbeat with all this dampness about. The mice have decided to come into my house for refuge as well. I am not happy! My satelite keeps losing reception and I think my roof is leaking.

Mike Scott and I go back a VERY long way - the facts that he's playing gigs suggest that he's off the drink just now. FWIW, I think he pissed his talent up against a wall when Another Pretty Face screwed up their contract with Virgin in 1981, but then you have to have heard the demos of the legendary unreleasable LP to understand this.
Basically, he and a four piece band tore up the Edinburgh scene after he moved up from Prestwick, but, when given a nunlimited studio budget he turned some decent three minute pop songs into anthems od pretentious twaddle
I have never got to see The Waterboys live yet unfortunately ..especially as I just love the philosophical," lived in" lyrics. The melodies are worthy too however his words.. are poetically correct.
