I saw Daniel Johnston for the first time on friday. It was great. Scout Niblett, Jad Fair and James McNew from Yo La Tengo played a few songs together, then Scout, James McNew, Mark Linkous and Daniel each played a few songs. This was the second time I'd seen Scout Niblett, and I loved it. Mostly she played alone on guitar, but occasionally her drummer joined her and sometimes she played drums herself. She played songs mostly off her last two albums and I was happy to see her in a more intimate venue.
