The Instant Classic - Todd Hannigan

Posted almost 4 years ago
i love it when you hear new music and it sounds both fresh and like something you've known for years. I was just turned on to Todd Hannigan and that description fits his music perfectly. I feel like Todd's music is something i have on vinyl in a crate somewhere. . . there is something perfectly sticky about this . . . and original, unique, familiar...my friend is working on some new music with Todd and turned me on. vey very tasty indeed and i'm psyched to hear his Vol 2 & 3

  2. Spike says Your description fit perfectly. Hannigan juxtaposes quietly strumming unpredictable but convincing chords on his guitar, singing with adroit grace a fine melody of short notes and conversational rhythm, and an occasional high eerie organ counterpoint. Hereby he creates a new sound.

  6. Bartleby says I can't seem to locate the "play" button for further investigation. However, I'll take your words on fez value (sorry I couldn't help myself) and dash off to check more of Todd Hannigan on the I-net

  7. ivylander says Bartleby, I think your problem is that this is a Rhapsody cut - for U.S. Moggers only. This is a real drawback of Rhapsody. Hannigan reminds me more than a little of Nick Drake, though without seeming derivative. Thanks for the earful....
