Track:Easter Theater
It's Easter Monday - or whatever you wanna call the day after Easter Sunday. In any event, I have no meetings, assignments, or social events on the calendar for today. I am, instead, using the day to depressurize after too much Easter candy.
(I did manage to keep the Peeps - those fiendish little marshmallow chicks - to a minimum. But the chocolate eggs and bunny rabbits were a bit of a problem. Nothing I can't survive, though.)
Yo! Where my Peeps at?
As long as there's nothing significant on the docket, allow me to use my free time to good advantage by posing a very important question: When eating a chocolate bunny, do you start with the ears, the feet, or the butt?
While you ponder that one, you can give a listen to the baroque and delightful "Easter Theater" from the 1999 album Apple Venus Volume One by one of my abso-fave bands - British post-punk art-rockers XTC. And watch out for stale Peeps. If you're not careful, you can choke on 'em.

I haven't heard this in yrs. thanks
dmdm: You're welcome. I can never get enough XTC. Almost as good as chocolate.
I concur with DMDM - a perfectly wrought song. Alas, the young Ivylanders are now of an age when the concept of the Easter Bunny strikes them as childish and patronizing, so no bunnies in the house to liberate. But back in the way, I could gnaw off a head with the best of 'em....

Yeah, ivy. The heads are delicious, but what part of Peter Chocolatetail would entice the first bite from a deadman?
I think I usually cracked off the ears first, but I didn't get one of those this year :(
Great to hear some XTC. There isn't enough from the masters on MOG.
MusicRX: As regards XTC, that's fer sure. Here's as good a place as any to belabor the obvious: Andy Partridge is genius.
Ears first of course. But then the bunny can't hear this exquisite song.
Poor bunny.

happy to report no chocolate bunnies were harmed by me this year
dharmachris: Ha! That is gosh-darned cute!
Rawk: Alas, many bunnies were harmed in the making of this post.
No bunnies for me this year either. But do love me some XTC. When I did indulge I'd go for the ears first, then the jugular. I'm ruthless like that!
Now Peeps I adore. So sickening sugary sweet yet so gooooood! 'Where my Peeps at?' why right here, of course, haha
Ever try barbecued Peeps? Yum!
Face First!
I have some guilt eating the chocolate rabbitses. With me, it's sort of like eating a pet that you are just starting to get to know. It's bizarre, I know, but I have no explanation for the behavior.
Hem, on another note, now that peeps have been mentioned - http://www.lordofthepeeps.com/
I come here to listen to XTC, but I stay for the peeps.
p-wagz, that's a GREAT website! I love this line: 'Bilbo Baggins! You don't look a day nearer your sell-by date'
Cody: Giving a chocolate bunny a "facial," huh? Well, in the words of Stan "The Man" Lee, "Face front, true believer!"
p-wagz: You know you can't housebreak those things, right? And that site is Peep-tastic! Thanks!
annie: My new motto: "Come for the XTC. Stay for the Peeps!"
August: Maybe "Peep-tastic" is too mild a term. Peep-errific? Peep-nificent? Peep-mendous?
I like the candy eyes..
Aieee! Straight outta Herschell Gordon Lewis's "Blood Feast"!!!
