Timbaland vs. Scott Storch... No Contest

Posted over 2 years ago
  • Artist:
    Timbaland, Scott Storch, Justin Timberlake
  • Track:
    Give It To Me

Back in January, Timbaland released the single Give It To Me with Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake. In this track, Timbaland refers to Scott Storch (aka The Piano Man) in a verse by saying:
"I'm a real producer and you just the piano man / Your songs don't top the charts, I heard 'em, I'm not a fan"
Timberlake also admits that his verse in the track is directed towards Storch.
Give It To MeApparently, this beef stems from Scott Storch feeling he didn't get due credit from Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River, claiming that he wrote and produced the majority of the track.
Around the same time as the release of Give It To Me, Timbaland did the following interview in which he says some fighting words to Scott (around the 3:00 minute mark).
You know, at this point, I think Scott should have just cut his losses and moved on. I mean, who's really dumb enough to up against Timbaland, the king, who's been pumping out innovative beats and hits since day one?
Apparently Scott is... because he released a youtube-only reply to Timbaland's diss, called You Ain't Built Like That:You Ain't Built Like ThatYou've got to be kidding me. Upon watching that video, I was full of displaced embarrassment for Scott. He's not a rapper, and it shows, and this low-budget film (one luxury car + speedboat =/= hard gangsters) only confirms Tim's belittling. Scott claims Timbaland can't write hits or pick his talent, which might hurt a little, if only he wasn't talking about the same Timbaland we know to have worked with Ginuwine, Aliyah, Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, etc. He also pokes at Timbaland by saying he's fat, does steroids and even likes "to get it up the a_" (but they're not going to say who's doing the f_king... phew). He even says Tim can't get his label to work (Beat Club), but Scott's is bombing too! I guess the beat is a little catchy, but it seems to be from the same mold as all the other try-hard gangsta tracks out there (Mims, Rich Boy, et al).

Thankfully, Timbaland came back with a response a couple weeks later with John D.O.E.... and they KILL Scott:Piano Man
I was so giddy while watching that video, so happy to see Scott getting what he deserves. Seriously, Scott saying he's a gangster? He was born in Halifax, grew up in middle class New Jersey and then Ft. Lauderdale. D.O.E. also knocks on Nox for being a reggaeton artist and doing a track with MC Hammer.
But that's not it! A couple of Beat Club artists were a little upset by Scott dissing Timbaland and the label, so they took it upon themselves to release tracks aimed at dissing Scott. Ms. Jade came out with Beam U Up:
Attitude, another Beat Club arist, released Wouldn't Get Far, which is aimed at Scott Storch and Nox.
Lastly, Nox recently replied to D.O.E. and Timbaland with a track called 1st Degree Murder.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find those last two tracks for this post... but THANKFULLY Scott Storch has kind of "fell off" for the time being.
