Back in the mid-'80s, in pursuit of a story for Rolling Stone, I road in the van with Black Flag to Las Vegas, where they were playing a gig in a building that we were told was normally used to shoot porn films.
Opening for Black Flag were the Meat Puppets. I'd never seen them before, and they blew me away.
A lot has gone down since then -- with me, with the members of Black Flag and with the Meat Puppets.
But now they're back in action, with a new album, Rise To Your Knees.

My Trusted MOGs
I got to see the Meat Puppets at the old 9:30 club in '94 or so. They did the closest thing to metal bluegrass I ever heard. Fast, honest, and cool.
