Here's the brand new Death Cab For Cutie single, "I Will Possess Your Heart," off Narrow Stairs, which will see release May 13. If you dig it you can buy it at your fave online digital music store.
wow! talk about a long intro. i can see it being the perfect time to grab a beer during the live show. other than that its very Death Cab sounding, which is a good thing.
The bass line (which I love) reminds me of something Black Rebel Motorcycle Club would do. However, the vocals and lyrics are pure Ben Gibbard. Great combo, IMO .
I gave up on this the first time around. Nice to know from the comments that there ARE going to be lyrics...eventually...someday...maybe...but WHEN . I am not a Death Cab worshiper so this intro is asking a lot of me. And it's not very interesting, pretty damn static. Please, sing, please sing, please sing. Please sing. Please. Please. Kind of fun FINALLY !!! to try to type i n rhythm. Well, okay, probably you have to be a true believer to really really dig this. "You gotta spend some time love, you gotta spend some time with me" is kind of funny given the song's length, long intro, etc. Witty, I mean. Whew! I made it through.
just an exercise in futility for me to even try to compete with Death Cab's sound. They're too good. They're too talented. They're too coordinated. They're too smart. They're too brilliant.
& damn it all if I even care that my music will never be as good. Thank you for posting this, Cheers!
I applaud this band for taking some chances. It would be easy for them to knock another like the other, instead they push it and if they stick with that, it'll be a great trip for years to come, sometimes the risks they take will work, sometimes they won't but it won't get boring.
Thanks, sounds interesting.
loving it, thanks for sharing!
Really like this. It sounds like a musical movie-style trailer for the album, if that makes sense. Very much looking forward to 'Narrow Stairs'.

Yeah it's cool. I'm digging it.
Sounds quite ambitious, but still recognizable in style. Like it!

I was totally going to say, sounds very BRMC at the beginning. Glad someone else recognized that too. When he brings in the vocals, it's all DCFC .
wow, nice nice nice!
This is the first I've heard of a new album. Nice!

LOL ! runobdyii DCFC is suppose to have a calming and soothing effect on one's soul, i think they did the opposite for you.
I can't seem to get this to embed into my Wordpress blog. Any suggestions?
Do the vocals ever start
