Arcade Fire, Deerhoof To Play Bowie's Highline Fest

The Arcade Fire will headline a show at Radio City Music Hall on May 9 that is part of David Bowie's Highline Festival, a new annual arts and music event for NYC. Bowie's partners in the festival are theater producer David Binder and nightlife impresario Josh Wood. Bowie is currating the event, and has said that he plans to include "emerging artists."Also set to perform: Deerhoof, Air, Laurie Anderson, Ken Nordine, Daniel Johnston, The Polyphonic Spree, Secret Machines, Bang On A Can, Legendary Stardust Cowboy and others, according to Bowie's website, davidbowie.com.The 10-day event will take place at street level and at neighboring venues alongside the High Line, New York’s biggest and most prestigious public works project in over 50 years – a public park is being created from the abandoned elevated train tracks on New York City’s West Side, according to Bowie's website.The event will include music, nightlife, visual art, performance and film – featuring superstars and emerging talent – all of which "celebrate the spirit of David Bowie’s creative vision."
