Jolie Holland is one of my favorite artists. She has the most beautiful voice -- she's been compared to Billie Holiday and kiaren Dalton, but it's a unique voice, truly like no other. She writes moving songs about love and life. I love her three albums, and you see an artist contuing to grow and evolve if you listen to them in order. First Catalpa, then Escondida, and finally Springtime Can Kill You.Jolie was the first musician to have a MOG page. When I met with her over a year ago to discuss MOG, she was totally enthusiastic and wanted to participate. She thought the idea of music fans turning other music fans onto music and musicians they dug was a great one.
We're now holding a Jolie Holland contest.
