In The Mood For Death Cab For Cutie

Posted over 5 years ago
So I just got in the mood to hear some Death Cab For Cutie sounds. I've got Plans and Something About Airplanes on my Powerbook but I wanted to hear a song off The Photo Album but alas it's packed along with about 3000 other CDS as I've been moving...But I did find "A Movie Script Ending" at the Barsuk Records site. Cool. And now you can hear it too.http://www.barsuk.com/bands/deathcabforcutie/mediaCover of The Photo Album.

  5. Anonymous says Hey, Michael, Beth Winegarner here -- I just wanted to say thanks for inviting me on to Mog. I'd like to make some techy suggestions but am not sure how to go about it! I hope you got the package I sent, and that all is well with you. :)

  6. Bop Apocalypse says I burnt myself out on Death Cab back in '02. That's not to say that I dislike thier music. I just don't often have an urge to listen to them these days. But a friend of mine bribed me with a free ticket to see them in Atlanta when they were to play at the Variety Playhouse in promotion of thier Transatlanticism release. Unfortunately, I was kicked out almost immediately after the opening act (Pedro the Lion) for underage drinking. The irony is that after being kicked out, I just walked around back, and wound up meeting David Bazan (Pedro frontman) & drinking his wine with him. His band members came out individually for air, and David and I continued talking about the strategies involved with shopping your own music from a songwriter's perspective. Which was very informative, by the way. In what seemed like no time at all, Ben Kweller had finished his set, and passed through for a moment and said hello. All the while, there were stagehands constantly coming in and out of the backdoor of this place, so I wound up hearing the majority of Death Cab's set, and later found myself shaking hands with them afterwards. Still got the autographs to back it up. Good times! Just thought I'd share that. My friend is still very jealous that he didn't get to meet them. And even more pissed that I was kicked out just after using the free ticket he'd hiven me.
