MOG Exclusive: Stream Previously Unreleased Live Songs By The Who!

Posted about 1 year ago
The folks who run The Who’s fan club have this great two-cd set of live recordings by The Who, “View From A Backstage Pass." Disc one is all from ’69, ’70 and ’71 including tracks recorded at The Grande Ballroom in Detroit and the Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Disc two was recorded at a variety of venues in ’73, ’74 and ’76. I'm gonna be streaming songs from the album over the next month. To get the CD and other cool stuff, you need to join the fan club which you can do here:http://www.thewho.com/service.php?module=subscribe&fcsc=EML0329Give a listen to "Fortune Teller," recorded at the Grande Ballroom in Detroit, Michigan, 1969!

  2. Michael Goldberg says The Who were amazing in the '60s and '70s. I was lucky enough to see them perform at the Berkeley Community Theater in '69 or '70, killer show.

  4. Jonh Ingham says I missed them in '68 by about 3 days because we were coming back from Australia. I'm still pissed about it.

  5. Mike the Knife says Now, these sides are a treat. I saw them a few times during my misspent youth - only once after Moon passed away. Always fantastic with the original line-up. Not quite so good without Moon. And with the Ox gone, I've got no interest in watching Pete and Roger billed as "The Who," although I truly enjoyed the solo Pete shows I've attended. My point: Call it what it is, and not what it ain't.

  9. redtunictroll says The first time I ever slept outside a venue the night before a show was to see The Who at Winterland in '76. That was probably the first laser show I ever saw, too.

  11. contrabandwidth says This disc sounds like a great snapshot of the band near their pinnacle ('bout '71 or '72, by my opinion). Looking forward to it. The Grande - Home of The MC5!

  12. SnapUrl says The first pro concert I attended was The Who at the Fillmore East in 1967. I went as part of a Methodist youth group trip, and yes you are right, the leaders had NO CLUE. It was a fantastic eye-opening experience. Not only were the Who great but the whole NYC & Fillmore vibe, life changing!
