WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Stream New Bob Mould Song, "The Silence Between Us"

I'm sure you know that Bob Mould once fronted Husker Du and later Sugar. Husker Du recorded one of the great epic albums of all time, Zen Arcade. Anyway, Mould is back with a new solo album, District Line, due Feb. 2 on Anti-, the label that Tom Waits and Nick Cave and my fave singer/songwriter Jolie Holland all record for, and this preview suggests that the album is gonna be a winner.

  1. brendanhalpin says Interesting! I had long filed Mould under "lost his mojo," but I like this a lot. I like the fact that he's not doing the trademark Bob Mould growl on the verses.

  2. dsbrew says Good stuff...thanks. His voice seems to have a new found clarity - or something - to it...I had read he had throat polyps(?)...could that have been the growl brendan refers to??...anyways...a class act i'm glad to see back "on the scene"...thanks for the heads up michael...

  3. christheskins says What would i/we do without you Michael? I too was missing good old Bob. "Copper Blue" remains one of my fave albums, with the subsequent stuff consistently hitting top quality..ie,"Egooveride","Deep Karma Canyon" , "Moving Trucks" ,"Reflecting Pool" ,all currently on my mp3..this sounds like more good stuff.. dsbrew..that sounds like a Vocoder type effect to me ,which he sort of used to achieve anyway,i thought, with multi-tracking blending the vocal with the guitar. Cheers Chris
