The Felice Brothers made one of 2008's best albums, their Tem Love debut, The Felice Brothers. Now the group, whose music recalls Dylan and The Band, have a new album due out April 7th titled Yonder is the Clock.
The group will be playing SXSW Feb. 20, two shows in which they'll preview some of the new songs. You can see them March 20 at 4 PM at The Dirty Dog and at 10 PM as part of the Ground Control Showcase at the Habana Bar Patio.
The new album's title is a phrase from Mark Twain's short story, "The Mysterious Strange," and the album finds the group singing about that "old weird America" that Greil Marcus writes about.
The album was recorded in the group's studio, which was built in the remians of an abandoned chicken coop, according to their publicist, during the summer and fall of 2008.
The songs:
1. The Big Surprise
2. Penn Station
3. Buried In Ice
4. Chicken Wire
5. Ambulance Man
6. Sailor Song
7. Katie Dear
8. Run Chicken Run
9. All When We Were Young
10. Boy from Lawrence County
11. Memphis Flu
12. Cooperstown
13. Rise and Shine

Looking forward to this. The Felice Brothers set the bar awfully high while still leaving the impression of a band still learning to flex it's muscles. I can't listen to the posted track yet, ......Gotta get home for that.
These guys have been consistently great for a long time. Check out Cooperstown. Maybe the best baseball song ever.
