Posted over 2 years ago
This is off Ani DiFranco's new career overview album, Canon. It's a newly recorded version of "Both Hands."Ani is one of the biggest stars to do things completely her way -- releasing all her albums on her own label.

  1. " SKYDOG " says Monday September17th,2007 " None Yet" on the ' Comments' Board! Got to be Brand NEW, Right ot of the the New Talented Young Lady thats' Got a Future and is going Somewhere! There is a profound "SNAP" in the STRONG intro that is provided by the Artist (aka "ANI" ). the Melody tha seems to be 'sourcing' from this well-tuned & played KILIMANJARO (?) four -- stringed Guitar (the Review- er sees ONLY Four pegs on the Headstock). The percussion and Rhythm backing appear to rise from a North -- African source perhaps coupled with the percussive 'given' in trap Drum Set. (+) Tamboras from N0. India. There is obviously some ( Les Paul brand ) sequential Over --Dubbing by the engineer ( Hence, the blending of the Electric Guitar on the Chord Repeats ...just past the refrain). ALL in ALL the Vocal sounds Highly Original to Ms. ANI DiFranco...it adresses a 20 - 30's time of life experience w/ an Urban Flavour & Motif contained inside the Lyrics. A Reviewer has to establish pureffury , although I find it Distasteful to " foist" a 'Sounds Like' or 'Sounds as' LABEL on a Creative Work. ( Allanis Morrisette, Joni Mitchell, Rickey- Lee - Jones, Early Carole King,) All need to be forewarned... Soon & Very Soon.... They'll will be contrasted and compaired with Ms. ANI DiFRANCO !!
