Camper Van Beethoven Rock Love Field In Point Reyes

Posted over 2 years ago
It was beautiful sunny day out at Love Field in Point Reyes on Saturday for the Far West Fest, an all day party that brought out the West Marin cowboy-hippie crowd, along with plenty of out-of-towners.Rockin' in one of the most beautiful places in the world. There was plenty of veggie food for sale, as well as burgers for the old school crowd.Live music played all day from the two stages. There were a whole bunch of local bands I'd never head of before: Sambada, Chrome Johnson, The Bluebellies, Sage, Axton Kincaid, Bo Carper, The Wronglers and Tim Cain. But most of the crowd was there to see the legendary Camper Van Beethoven play an hour and a half set of their skewed psychedelic alt-rock under the blue sky, with tree covered Inverness Ridge in the background. The music was awesome, the scene even better. Here's a taste:Camper frontman David Lowery and bassist Victor Krummenacher.A couple of typical Far West Fest attendees.Kids havin' fun while the music played.Lowery, Krummenacher and violin player Jonathan Segel.Like it was 1967 all over again.

  8. Michael Goldberg says I think if we want it to be a really amazing event with some incredible artists we're gonna need to wait another year or so. There has been some talk around the Ol' MOG office of staging something live a bit down the line. Just casual talk, but if all goes well...

  9. B42 says Next summer some time, three days with camping, twenty or so bands; start rounding up some sponsors and booking the acts early, have to be a diverse bunch to reflect all of our "eclectic"(haha) tastes. Mog On :)
