Why is it that Lou Reed’s ‘Satellite of Love’is interesting only lyrically until the last minute when musically it becomes the most compelling thing that you ever did hear? Is it the magic of David Bowie’s backing vocals finally hitting home as he almost steals the show? I think that based on the end of ‘Satellite of Love’ Reed could have built the track into something absolutely epic. Of course the current form is good but there are such things as rerecordings and remixes. The Dab Hands remix is a really good dance mix but certainly not epic. A cover could be the answer but I don’t think so without Reed and Bowie’s vocals .
