WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Morrissey and Johnny Marr on Children's TV

Posted over 2 years ago
Just watched an incredibly bizarre interview of Morrissey and Johnny Marr of 'The Smiths' on an 80's kid's show. I love the ideas behind the 'The Smiths' being explained to school aged children. I don't quite know why but it's a both hilarious and sinister item even at this toned down level.Boy: "Why do you hold flowers when you sing?"Morrissey: "Why I hold flowers? I think flowers are very beautiful things. Very nice and innocent things. They don't harm anybody, they don't burp and they don't do anything ugly. So why not? It's better I think, than waving socks about."The only way this could be better would be if 'The Smiths' were in the same room as the kids.Check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikwKaMlzoyI

  1. SamTheButcher says Dude, that was crazy. Playing "Reel Around the Fountain", a song about taking someone's virginity. Then "Hand In Glove", playing the part where he sings "The sun shines out of our behinds..." Wow. Interesting choices, but I'm glad I saw it! Very cool, thanks for the post.

  2. Megax22 says That video is a reply to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quFlsFkKarE which is also really bizzare (and has poor image quality). ‘The Smiths’ go to botanic gardens on a bus with children and look around the zoo to the tune of ‘Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now’. Sandie Shaw then shows up and Johnny Marr accompanies her while she sings ‘Jeanne’. The best parts are the kids talking to ‘The Smiths’ on the bus and a boy looking bored behind Sandie Shaw.

  3. SamTheButcher says That's awesome, I'll check that one out, too! Thanks! (WTF were they thinking?!? Bad management, perhaps?)
