WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

My favorite songwriter in the whole wide world

Posted over 2 years ago
His name is Christian Kjellvander. He's from Sweden. He is a good friend of mine. He has been releasing albums since '96 and he's just about to record his new one. I love everything he does. Christian moved from Sweden to Seattle when he was 6 and returned when he was 16. You will notice a solid northwestern accent. He used to be in a band called Loosegoats but then started releasing albums using his own name.Check out these two albums if you get the chance:"Songs From A Two-Room Chapel" (2002)"Faya" (2005)The song "Juanita" is from the Faya album.

  3. kristiana says I need some. I love that he left the sound of himself walking away on there too. Always tugging at the heart strings.

  6. amber says Lovely...but where's the accent? We have accents in the Northwest? And can I claim some of him, since he spent his formative years in my town? Beautiful song..

  7. Me and the Horse I Rode In On says Amber..........I bet you would. Accent....of course you do......in your own way. I thought about this hearing an interview with John from The Long Winters at Kexp. They sound so similar. I have actually never met anyone from Seattle who wasn't nice as can be. I met a bunch over the years and I was pleasantly surprised every time.

I will definitely go give him some money. of course you are falling into my clutches more and more every day, because you will never see the big smackdown coming. I see ice in this picture, are you making a Vanilla Ice reference even now? for shame . . .

  10. mktackabery says oh sure, like i believe that. I'm bummed out Henry. I tried to buy Fava from Christian's label site, and it did not like my credit card. I'm going to try again later I guess.
