Today while doing something else that apparantly kept me from controlling my mind the line "and so this is Christmas" popped by and I thought...............................I just do not like the song. I guess it's not that I don't like it. I've just heard it one too many times. I think I was 14 years old when I heard that song for the first time. What was I doing before? I can't tell you. I was at school......last school day before Christmas and we were all gathered in the gym. Someone wanted to play this song and the sound coming out of those speakers blew my mind. I think I was 17 before listening to Stairway To Heaven. Again........how could I have avoided this song? Again.............I can't tell you. The first time was amazing. Well.........the first 100 times were amazing but now I just can't stand listening to that song.Well..............the list goes on and you get the idea. It's funny that all those songs that give me the creeps today once changed everything I loved about music. Those songs opened my mind. I cannot count the times I spent in my bedroom doing my airguitar routine to Hotel California...........today.......PLEASE TAKE THAT SONG AWAY!!!!I remember being at a school dance the first time I heard Paradise City. I wanted to be like that. Back then nothing else mattered........when a song like that came on time stood still and I could spend hours dreaming and seeing myself on a stage playing Slash's solo. At 15 when I lived in a tiny town in Arkansas I often took long walks because I just needed to get away. Headphones on......walking by myself.......and the sound of "KLF is gonna rock you". Now that's a song I can still listen to!!!Those were the days. Young and naive full of dreams shaped like balloons.

  1. gympumpkin says I love that KLF song :) I can't really listen to Stairway To Heaven anymore either. I have just heard it way too much. Although I can tolerate the end, the last 2 minutes. I still like that part.
