If you're still reading, you'll probably like Au Revoir Simone.I'm trying to come up with some plausible explanation of where I encountered this band, but I seem to have no choice but to confess to seeing them on MTV's You Heard It First (or whatever it's called).Picked up the album at Other Music today. Packaging was delightfully lo-fi.Check out their website where you can download two good, free MP3s- http://aurevoirsimone.com/Nice sparse, synthy, whistful, minimal-beat stuff. I don't like a lot of indie (is this indie?) stuff, but when i hear something that works, it shines through loud and clear. Sounds like the Virgin Suicides soundtrack Air should have made. Songs are nice and short too. I like that.
