"Sodade" is Cape Verdean creole and derives from the Portuguese "saudade" which evokes a certain sadness tinged with longing and wistfulness... It's the defining soul of the Portuguese people. It encompasses such range of feelings and consequently realities that it's untranslatable. See Wiki I've got some nice tunes of hers. See if I can find them and post.
