WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

How brisk?

Whenever I think of Erik Satie, I think of a cold Norwegian lake (or something to that effect). Somewhere cold and calm, vast and full of subtle details. There isn't much wildlife, just a bird or two taking off from a lone tree every now and again. What do others think of? [tell me about any Satie piece]

  1. wassonii says second time i've quoted from this today:) "Artists have no right to take up their listener's time pointlessly. Artists are certainly to be respected, but listeners even more so. The public worships Ennui. For them, Ennui is mysterious and profound. A curious thing: the listener is defenceless against boredom. Boredom tames him. Why is it easier to bore people than amuse them?" from "A Mammal's Notebook", Erik Satie, @las press I think of a brilliant human in touch with every facet of possible mental usage. Just about any lake'll do, tho.
